Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a look at the pop and lock cargo safe power deadbolt lock set. So this is going to keep your van secure. This is a custom fit for the 1997 through 2019 Chevy Express van. And it's going to help to keep all your cargo inside, safe from any kind of would-be thieves. It's going to be great for fleet vans, or maybe if you're a traveling musician, you want to keep all your gear in there overnight, it can often be a big thing where people steal all your stuff out of the van.

You can lock everything up with your existing locks, including the side door and the rear door. This is going to work for both swinging style doors for the side and rear, so if you open them up like that, that's what this is going to work for.There is a kit for the side sliding door as well. You can also find that here at trailer.com using part number 100399. So if you want to get that one, you can find that right here. Somewhat similar in concept or very similar in concept, but a little bit different in install.So as far as the install for our swinging doors, these are going to be the two units that we have.

One goes for each of the doors, comes with all the bracketry and all the wiring and everything that you need to get it installed. And it does have pretty detailed instructions. It also comes with a couple of templates, so that helps to mock everything up and make the modifications that you need to do. So let's take a closer look at our brackets and talk a little bit more about that.These are going to fit right up. They're going to wire in directly with your factory wiring, so that means you can use your powered locks to lock and unlock your doors.

So if you have a key fob for that, that also means you can utilize that to lock and unlock these guys. They're completely assembled when you get them out of the box. You don't have to worry about putting any of this together. You just have to put it onto your van, and that's going to be the tricky part. But again, we'll get our templates for the door, for both the rear and the side, and then also our complete instructions.

Something I like about these is that they do have pictures and they're in color. So very much helps to get this in place. Some tools that you will need, you will need a power drill, a step bit, some metal cutting shears, a center punch, electrical tape, some putty, some . I saw it on here, plumber's putty, and other stuff.So you will need to have a good amount of tools to get this installed. It's not going to be just the most novice thing. So if it's something that you feel comfortable with installing yourself, you definitely could get it done in an afternoon, but it is maybe intermediate to advanced level.The wiring should be pretty simple. It's just going to be cutting that into your factory wiring. It does come with two leads. So I just have these wrapped up, but they'll plug right into the wiring coming off those brackets. And then you connect that into your wiring for your vehicle, for your powered locks. So just takes a little patience, like anything that you do yourself. I believe in you. You can do it.But should be a nice set to keep everything secure. All the brackets and everything are stainless steel, so they're going to be very strong, durable, don't have to worry about any kind of rust. And they are covered by a one-year limited warranty.That's about all there is to it for our look at this kit. I think it's going to be a great addition to your kit. One thing you also don't have to worry about is any kind of keys to go with this, because it is going to just work off of your factory systems. So that's one less thing you have to add to your key chain, but should keep all your stuff from any would-be thieves. So hope this has been helpful.
